TAIPEI, TAIWAN (June 2, 2009) – At the Computex Taipei, Acer is showcasing its comprehensive multi-brand lines of products featuring the Acer, Gateway, Packard Bell and eMachines brands. The lineup demonstrates Acer’s multi-brand strategy, which aims at developing products with distinctive look and feel, to target different consumer segments and identities. The in-depth market research conducted by Acer showed that a one-brand-for-all concept could not successfully reach out to the very different markets.

Highlights of Acer’s booth at Computex

Aspire Timeline Series notebooks are slim and light, measuring only 1” at the thinnest point. The energy-conscious Timeline notebooks feature lower power consumption for long-lasting and energy-efficient portability, and range from an ultra-light 1.6kg (3.5lb) for the 13.3” 3810T model, 1.9kg (4.2 lb) for the 14” 4810T model, and just 2.4kg (5.3lb) for the 15.6” 5810T model, making them both lighter and easier to carry around than anything comparable. The Timeline notebooks pack at least 8 hours of earth-friendly battery life and are available at a very affordable price tag.

The first Aspire One netbooks debuted at Computex 2008, and this year Acer is showcasing its full range of netbook offerings targeting different mobile consumer needs. The Aspire One 751 Series is the company’s first 11.6” netbook with a full-size keyboard for easy typing even for touch typists. Consumers can watch high-definition content on the large LED-backlit display (16:9 ratio, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution), and enjoy 5.1-channel audio with Dolby® Headphone. The extended 6-cell battery for the AO751 can provide uptime of up to eight1 hours.

Meanwhile, the next generation 10.1” Aspire One netbooks – the AO531 and AOD250 – are thinner and lighter than their predecessor, and ideal for anyone on the move. These groundbreaking advancements usher in the new netbook generation for long lasting fun and productivity on the road.

The new Acer Aspire Z5600 All-in-one PC with a spacious 23” display and grand multimedia capability represents a current revolution in the world of PCs. No longer do users have to be limited to the use of keyboard and mouse controls, or be restricted with expensive propriety touch implementations. A first-class touch experience together with Acer's application suite, integrate everyday lifestyle needs with intuitive multi-touch functionality – all at an affordable price. Users may freely alternate control of the PC with mouse or touch at their ergonomically enhanced leisure.

The Acer F900 and Acer M900 smartphones unveiled at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year have begun shipping to channel partners in EMEA and Asia. Highlights of the F900 and M900 include a large 3.8" wide VGA display for excellent web browsing experience, 3.75G HSPA connectivity for high-speed data transfer, and Acer’s new widget-based user interface that provides easy navigation with vivid 3D animation. F900 was specifically designed for users who need a powerful do-it-all device and want web browsing to be as slick as on their PCs. The pre-installed Mobile Web Services provide direct access to the most used web applications – search, maps, video streaming. M900 is perfect for business professionals: the sliding QWERTY keyboard, scroll wheel and finger print sensor offer effective and secure management of personal and professional data.

Acer will also offer previews and trials of some of the upcoming handsets to be launched in September. Based on Windows 6.5, the new generation handsets will deliver a significantly different experience to users: with trendy designs, innovative contents, applications and intuitive touch interfaces, the different handsets will offer a range of usage experiences. Computex attendees are welcome to visit the Acer booth to get "hands-on" with the F900, M900 and trial prototypes of our upcoming line-up.
