TAIPEI, TAIWAN (June 2, 2009) – At the Computex Taipei, Acer is showcasing its comprehensive multi-brand lines of products featuring the Acer, Gateway, Packard Bell and eMachines brands. The lineup demonstrates Acer’s multi-brand strategy, which aims at developing products with distinctive look and feel, to target different consumer segments and identities. The in-depth market research conducted by Acer showed that a one-brand-for-all concept could not successfully reach out to the very different markets.

Highlights of Acer’s booth at Computex

Aspire Timeline Series notebooks are slim and light, measuring only 1” at the thinnest point. The energy-conscious Timeline notebooks feature lower power consumption for long-lasting and energy-efficient portability, and range from an ultra-light 1.6kg (3.5lb) for the 13.3” 3810T model, 1.9kg (4.2 lb) for the 14” 4810T model, and just 2.4kg (5.3lb) for the 15.6” 5810T model, making them both lighter and easier to carry around than anything comparable. The Timeline notebooks pack at least 8 hours of earth-friendly battery life and are available at a very affordable price tag.

The first Aspire One netbooks debuted at Computex 2008, and this year Acer is showcasing its full range of netbook offerings targeting different mobile consumer needs. The Aspire One 751 Series is the company’s first 11.6” netbook with a full-size keyboard for easy typing even for touch typists. Consumers can watch high-definition content on the large LED-backlit display (16:9 ratio, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution), and enjoy 5.1-channel audio with Dolby® Headphone. The extended 6-cell battery for the AO751 can provide uptime of up to eight1 hours.

Meanwhile, the next generation 10.1” Aspire One netbooks – the AO531 and AOD250 – are thinner and lighter than their predecessor, and ideal for anyone on the move. These groundbreaking advancements usher in the new netbook generation for long lasting fun and productivity on the road.

The new Acer Aspire Z5600 All-in-one PC with a spacious 23” display and grand multimedia capability represents a current revolution in the world of PCs. No longer do users have to be limited to the use of keyboard and mouse controls, or be restricted with expensive propriety touch implementations. A first-class touch experience together with Acer's application suite, integrate everyday lifestyle needs with intuitive multi-touch functionality – all at an affordable price. Users may freely alternate control of the PC with mouse or touch at their ergonomically enhanced leisure.

The Acer F900 and Acer M900 smartphones unveiled at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year have begun shipping to channel partners in EMEA and Asia. Highlights of the F900 and M900 include a large 3.8" wide VGA display for excellent web browsing experience, 3.75G HSPA connectivity for high-speed data transfer, and Acer’s new widget-based user interface that provides easy navigation with vivid 3D animation. F900 was specifically designed for users who need a powerful do-it-all device and want web browsing to be as slick as on their PCs. The pre-installed Mobile Web Services provide direct access to the most used web applications – search, maps, video streaming. M900 is perfect for business professionals: the sliding QWERTY keyboard, scroll wheel and finger print sensor offer effective and secure management of personal and professional data.

Acer will also offer previews and trials of some of the upcoming handsets to be launched in September. Based on Windows 6.5, the new generation handsets will deliver a significantly different experience to users: with trendy designs, innovative contents, applications and intuitive touch interfaces, the different handsets will offer a range of usage experiences. Computex attendees are welcome to visit the Acer booth to get "hands-on" with the F900, M900 and trial prototypes of our upcoming line-up.

Computex Taipei is Asia's most influential global IT event. This year the event runs from June 2~6. Acer's booth is located at the Nangkang Exhibition Hall, upper level, #L617a.

Concurrently held is the Wimax Taipei 2009, exhibiting the latest advancements in Wimax technology. Acer demonstrates its support in this technology by showcasing its Wimax-ready Aspire Timeline notebooks and Aspire One netbooks. At the Acer booth in Wimax Taipei, four scenarios will demonstrate the benefits in everyday life, in terms of digital entertainment and productivity. The Wimax Taipei 2009 is held at the Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 1. Please visit Acer’s booth at #503.

Feel the Soul from Within
With poetic precision and atelier craftsmanship, the ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 is a fitting tribute to the Lamborghini Reventón. It is the superlative of avant garde design, one that triggers the primeval senses for exhilaration and power. Within the exquisitely designed chassis beats the heart of unrivalled power, one that only the discerning would comprehend, and in doing so ASUS managed to design and produce not only a notebook, but more of an art-form. More than that, ASUS has managed to encapsulate the very essence of Lamborghini by producing a notebook that is worthy to bear its badge.

A Marque of Prestige and Undeniable Style

Like the Lamborghini Reventón, the ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 is a perfect synthesis between clean lines and glossy trappings. Be it in piano black or pearlescent white the VX5 is a statement of panache and power, even more so once users lift the hood to find an equally glossy touchpad, with the hint of ceramic finishing from its buttons. These accentuated features can be found nestled in a luxuriously sewn leather palm-rest. Chrome rims frame a pair of bespoke speakers by Altec Lansing, its design reminiscent of the heat vents of the Lamborghini Reventón. As a finishing touch to the masterpiece, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lens cover shields a built-in webcam with a touch of class.

User-centric Features via Innovative Solutions
A newly adopted illuminated 'chiclet' keyboard minimizes errors associated with typing via equally spaced keys, while a light sensor embedded within the ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 intelligently monitors the lighting conditions of the users´ immediate surroundings, brightening or dimming its display and back-lit keyboard accordingly. This provides much appreciated relief for users with better visibility in adverse lighting conditions.

Performance at the Core of its Design for Efficiency and Enjoyment
Equipped with a 1TB hard disk drive, the ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 gives users more storage space for work or entertainment. Powered by an Intel® Core™2 Quad Q9000 processor it provides users with the capability of executing simultaneous programs with ease. A 16-inch full high definition display powered by an NVIDIA® GeForce™ GT 130M with GDDR3 1G VRAM graphics card treats users to vibrant images with stunning clarity. Just like its vehicular counterpart, the ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 provides users with accelerated performance at the touch of speed key located alongside the keyboard, which initiates the TwinTurbo mode which boosts both CPU and GPU performance, establishing the ASUS-LAMBORGHINI VX5 as the superlative of power and dependability.
